Onnik James Krikorian has over 20 years experience working for the mainstream media in all areas of production, including working contracts for the Bristol Evening Post, The Independent, The Economist, and UNICEF. He has also worked as a stringer for Transitions Online, EurasiaNet, Fox News, Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR), Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso, and Hetq Online. Other media outlets include Radio Free Europe, Geographical, and New Internationalist.

He has also worked as a fixer for the BBC, Al Jazeera English, The Wall Street Journal, New Internationalist, National Geographic and others.

He has written analysis for Routledge/Europa’s Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia, Caucasus Analytical Digest, and Caucasus International. He also assisted Thomas de Waal with the research for Black Garden: Armenia and Azerbaijan Through Peace and War. From August to November 2013 he was contracted by Canal France International to work as part of its team organising the 4M Journalism and Social Media Forum held in Tbilisi, Georgia, in November 2013.

He specializes in covering conflict, poverty, democracy, human rights, minorities, culture, and other issues in the South Caucasus. Two books of Onnik James Krikorian’s articles and photographs have been published by the Gomidas Institute and UNICEF Armenia.
